CDWD are socially, economically, culturally, legally, and politically marginalized with social stigma of untouchability being the heinous human rights violation existing in the country.
This report unravels the surrounding evolving landscape of political representation, legal protections, and educational opportunities for DWD communities in India, highlighting both progress and persisting challenges.
CDWD communities are suppressed in various forms, mainly through violence and atrocities, the report points out. Dominant communities have used atrocities as tools to suppress the CDWD and are often missing in the policies of development in the country.
