Call for Applications: Rights Experts Programme for Global Forum of (GFoD)


Who are we: Global Forum of Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent (GFoD), is a platform to voice the rights and entitlements of the communities discriminated on work and descent in , Asia, Europe and  . GFoD aims for full realization of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent and ensuring access to sustainable development goals (SDGs). GFoD was founded in and formally recognizes the core motto of ‘Leave No One Behind' propounded by “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, which ensures Planet, Peace, and Prosperity for all, especially those who are marginalized through generations and suffered social prejudices while aspiring for a life of dignity and peace. 


What is Discrimination based on Work and Descent: Discrimination based on work and descent is any distinction, exclusion, restriction, or preference based on inherited status such as , including present or ancestral occupation, family, community or social origin, name, birth place, place of residence, dialect and accent that has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment, or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural, or any other field of public life. 


What are we looking for: The Global Forum of Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent (GFoD) is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for passionate and driven Rights Experts to join our vibrant and global team. This is more than just a role—it's an adventure in advocacy, where you will delve into complex human rights challenges, amplify the voices of Communities Discriminated on work and descent, and contribute to groundbreaking research and impactful interventions on international platforms. If you have the courage to confront injustice and the ambition to drive change, we invite you to be part of our mission. Selected Rights experts will play a pivotal role in critical areas of human rights advocacy and research, making a tangible difference worldwide.


What are the probable roles:

Capacitation, Research  and Evidence Collection: Conduct in-depth research and collect data to support the advocacy efforts of CDWD and international mechanisms
Voluntary National Review (VNR) and High-Level Political Forum () Intervention Support: Provide strategic support for interventions at VNR and HLPF platforms.
Mainstreaming and Research Support: Integrate gender perspectives into research and advocacy activities.
Inputs and Submission to Special Rapporteurs (SRs): Prepare and submit inputs to relevant UN Special Rapporteurs.
Human Rights Council and Uniter Nation Interventions: Support interventions and advocacy efforts at the Human Rights Council.
Youth Intervention: Support the team in designing and taking forward the youth intervention on Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent.


Application Deadline: 28th February 2025.

Number of working hours: 45-50 hours per months


Remuneration: 400-450 USD
